It is the oldest public housing community in Minneapolis and, unlike most of MPHA's portfolio, offers townhome-style family homes rather than high-rise apartments. Rent is income-based, set at about 30% of adjusted household income.

How to apply

2. Waitlists open and close periodically, and family housing lists are handled separately from high-rise lists — check current status with MPHA
3. You can indicate community preferences; Glendale Townhomes may be available

Your rights

Minneapolis prohibits source-of-income discrimination under a 2017 city ordinance, upheld by the Minnesota Supreme Court in 2020 — a landlord generally cannot refuse you, or advertise "no Section 8," because you would pay with a voucher. The ordinance has an undue-hardship exception, and Minnesota has no statewide protection.
