How to apply

1. Apply online through denverhousing.org when public housing pre-applications or the Housing Choice Voucher waitlist are open
2. Waitlists open and close periodically and demand is high — check current status with DHA
3. You can indicate community preferences; the Mariposa District may be available
4. When a matching unit is available, DHA contacts you for an eligibility review and an offer

Rent is about 30% of adjusted household income — there is no flat market rent.

Your rights

Colorado bans source-of-income discrimination statewide under HB20-1332 (effective January 1, 2021) — a landlord generally cannot refuse you simply because you would pay with a Housing Choice Voucher. Landlords with three or fewer rental units are exempt.

Neighborhood

La Alma/Lincoln Park sits just southwest of downtown Denver, served by RTD bus routes and the 10th & Osage light rail station.
