Your rights

Whether Milwaukee protects voucher holders from source-of-income discrimination is unsettled: Wisconsin law has been read to exclude Section 8 vouchers from "lawful source of income," and Milwaukee County's own attorneys have questioned whether its ordinance can be enforced. In practice a private landlord may decline your voucher — verify current local enforcement with Milwaukee County or a legal aid provider. Federal Fair Housing protections always apply.

Neighborhood

The northwest side is served by Milwaukee County Transit System bus routes with connections toward downtown Milwaukee.
