Your rights

Louisiana has no source-of-income protection, and New Orleans has no local ordinance — a private landlord may legally decline a Housing Choice Voucher. Fair Housing law still protects you from discrimination based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status, or disability.

Neighborhood

Tremé is one of the oldest African American neighborhoods in the United States, just north of the French Quarter and served by New Orleans RTA bus routes.
